Restrictions in response to Coronavirus sure has made it difficult to have fun this summer, but that just means we need to be more creative in coming up with safe solutions. So if you want to take your Bavarian Beauty and enjoy the road and the brilliant German engineering that makes our marque special please join your Allegheny Chapter of the BMW CCA for a social distance-friendly drive on Saturday, August 15th. Bring your face-mask and your BMW as we drive from Washington, PA to Wheeling, WV via the scenic and twisty SR 231. We’ll stop for lunch at Oglebay Resort where folks are free to eat at one of the open dining establishments or you can bring your own food and use the picnic tables. Either way it is all first come, first serve. After lunch we’ll drive the route in reverse. If you have never driven a route in both directions you are in for a treat. Trip mileage is 100 miles and should take 4.0 hours.
The departure location will be the back parking lot of Howard Hanna near the Meadows Casino (see image below). The address is 100 Adios Dr, Washington, PA 15301. Meet up at 9:30 AM. Driver’s meeting is at 9:45 AM and we will be on the road no later than 10:00 AM. Due to the PA DOH and CDC recommendations on social distancing we will be doing the waivers electronically and we will be meeting in separate sections of the parking lot. If you joined us on The Great Escape drive in June it will feel very similar.
This drive is rated Spirited – Your BMW will be moving through a lot of curves with gusto!
The event is FREE to all attendees but registration is mandatory via Motorsportreg.com
A GPX file and directions will be provided before the drive. If you have any questions, please contact Steve Forest at [email protected]
