SUMMARY:PVGP Schenley Park
DESCRIPTION:There is no way to predict what the weather will be the weekend of the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix (PVGP) but what you can predict is the passion.  The Allegheny Chapter of the BMW CCA brings their hospitality to German Hill like no other.  Every year\, the volunteers from the chapter  bring their passion for the event and for the charity. The ten-day event brings 250\,000 people from all walks of life to witness one of the largest car events in the country.  German Hill is tucked away in the sweet spot of turn 13 with an amazing view of the track and there is plenty of action on the track.  The hospitality of the local chapter\, the car show and the racing is only part of the story.  The heart of the story is the charity – The Autism Society of Pittsburgh and the Allegheny Valley School.  Together with the Pittsburgh BMW dealers\, Griot’s Garage and the BMW CCA\, the Allegheny Chapter has raised over $275\,000 for the Grand Prix charities since 2009! You do not have to be a member of the BMW CCA to join us for lunch or take part in our activities in Schenley Park! SUMMARY:PVGP Historic Races
DESCRIPTION:Many of you hear PVGP and think Schenley Park but there is another weekend that happens before Schenley Park that is just as thrilling! Brett Sutton\, our BMW Club Racing Coordinator with the help of Rahal Racing host a hospitality area right in the middle of the BMW paddock. It is an excellent opportunity to meet and talk with the drivers or just to find a little shade from the sun.  A short walk up to the top of Spectator Hill  and you will find yourself in the best spot for a bird’s eye view of the races right where the north track meets the south.  The track is 2.8 miles long with 19 corners and can be conquered by some of our BMW Club Racers in under 2 minutes.  The north track (the older of the two) is getting a fresh coat of paving so you can better believe that it will make for some exciting races this year.  Schenley Park is the highlight of this ten-day event we all call the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix but the racing starts here at the Pittsburgh International Race Complex with the Historics. \nBMW CCA O’Fest Website

DESCRIPTION:Spring Drive\nMay 19th\, 2018\nOur Spring Drive will depart at 9 am on May 19th\, 2018 from Starbucks in Cranberry.  Address is 1713 PA-228E\, Cranberry Township\, Pa 16066.  Please plan to arrive at 8:30 to fuel up and meet up.  Driver’s meeting will begin at 8:45 and we are off by 9.  Our Drive Master has put together a route that will provide 2.5 hours of travel fun with a planned stop at approximately the halfway point. \n  \nTours will begin at the Bowman’s Castle at 12:30 pm.  Each tour will cost $10 and last 45 minutes.  There will be special consideration for our group and each will be provided an option for a full history tour or one that includes more of the paranormal stories.  Built in 1739…there are a lot of history and a lot of stories.  Lunch will be served on the lawn following the tours with burgers\, kielbasa\, baked beans\, tossed salad plus dessert\, coffee\, iced tea and water.  Cost for lunch will be $10. \n  \nIn celebration of the National Pike Festival\, there will be vendors onsite and reserved parking to ensure that we all have a place to park.  There will be room for 5 cars immediately in front of the castle with additional parking outside of the stone wall across the street.  If anyone is interested of photos with their car in front of the castle\, there will be the opportunity to do that after lunch.RSVP by May 10th \nBowman’s Castle\, also known as Nemacolin Castle\, was built in present-day Brownsville\, Pennsylvania\, at the western terminus of the Nemacolin’s Trail on the east bank of the Monongahela river. It was built around the original trading post\, which was built near the site of Fort Burd\, the latter built by British colonists during the French and Indian War. Construction on the castle\, including addition of a crenellated tower\, continued through the Victorian era\, when it was considered an engineering marvel.

DESCRIPTION:The Last Drive\n\nThe 4th Annual Last Drive of the Year will be on Saturday\, November 4th.  It will feature a combination of leisurely touring\, spirited driving\, and a very interesting and unique destination.\n\nThe drive will depart at 10:00 from Perkins Restaurant at 20013 Route 19 in Cranberry Twp. 16066\, giving you plenty of time for a leisurely breakfast at one of the area restaurants.\n\nIt will take us about 1:40 to reach our destination stop \, the Large Scale Systems Museum (LSSM) in New Kensington.  The LSSM is accessible to the public by appointment only.  They have an amazing collection of computing systems representing every era of the computer age from the 1960s through today.  The large systems are downstairs and the personal systems are upstairs.\n\nThe big difference between the LSSM and the Computer History Museum in Mountain View\, CA is that almost everything in the LSSM actually works…and the curators provide live demonstrations.  Have you ever wanted to play with an Apple Lisa\, or an original 1984 Macintosh?  Here’s your chance.\n\nAnyone who has had contact with computers at any level will find the LSSM infectiously interesting.\n\nFrom there\, we have a short drive to a snack or light lunch at The Eatery in Harmer Twp.  From there\, we have a nice drive on some very scenic roads—and sometimes challenging roads—to our dinner destination at The Hardwood Café on Rt.8\, just south of Butler at about 4:30.\n\nThe drive is 115 miles long.  The elapsed time will be about 6:30.  The drive time will be about 4:00.\n\nThe 4th Annual Last Drive is designed to continue the fine tradition of Annual Last Drives 1 – 3.  I hope you can join us.

DESCRIPTION:The Allegheny Chapter is proud to announce the return of the “PITT Race- Allegheny Chapter Autocross Series”. Held at Pittsburgh International Race Complex in Wampum\, Pa this low key series will consist of six (6) autocross sessions\, with a start date of May 13th (immediately following the Allegheny Chapters “Introduction to Autocross” program). The Series first session starts at 12:00 pm. The remaining dates are; June 10\, July 16\, August 12\, September 10 and October 7. \nAny chapter member who signs up for the series will receive a $60 discount from PITT Race and a $24 discount from the Allegheny Chapter. If you can’t commit to the series you can attend on individual dates and pay the non-discounted amount of $40 as you play.  Helmets are required and can be rented from PITT Race. Individuals only need to attend three out of six events to be considered for class winners depending on if there are enough cars within your class.

The Series first session starts at 12:00 pm. The remaining dates are; June 10\, July 16\, August 12\, September 10 and October 7. \nAny chapter member who signs up for the series will receive a $60 discount from PITT Race and a $24 discount from the Allegheny Chapter. If you can’t commit to the series you can attend on individual dates and pay the non-discounted amount of $40 as you play.  Helmets are required and can be rented from PITT Race. Individuals only need to attend three out of six events to be considered for class winners depending on if there are enough cars within your class.

DESCRIPTION:  \nThere is no way to predict what the weather will be the weekend of the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix (PVGP) but what you can predict is the passion.  The Allegheny Chapter of the BMW CCA brings their hospitality to German Hill like no other.  Every year\, the volunteers from the chapter  bring their passion for the event and for the charity. The ten-day event brings 250\,000 people from all walks of life to witness one of the largest car events in the country.  German Hill is tucked away in the sweet spot of turn 13 with an amazing view of the track and there is plenty of action on the track.  The hospitality of the local chapter\, the car show and the racing is only part of the story.  The heart of the story is the charity – The Autism Society of Pittsburgh and the Allegheny Valley School.  Together with the Pittsburgh BMW dealers\, Griot’s Garage and the BMW CCA\, the Allegheny Chapter has raised over $275\,000 for the Grand Prix charities since 2009! You do not have to be a member of the BMW CCA to join us for lunch or take part in our activities in Schenley Park! As always\, all years and models of BMWs are welcome.  Be sure to stop by and say hi!

SUMMARY:PVGP Historic Races
DESCRIPTION:Many of you hear PVGP and think Schenley Park but there is another weekend that happens before Schenley Park that is just as thrilling! Brett Sutton\, our BMW Club Racing Coordinator with the help of Rahal Racing host a hospitality area right in the middle of the BMW paddock. It is an excellent opportunity to meet and talk with the drivers or just to find a little shade from the sun.  A short walk up to the top of Spectator Hill  and you will find yourself in the best spot for a bird’s eye view of the races right where the north track meets the south.  The track is 2.8 miles long with 19 corners and can be conquered by some of our BMW Club Racers in under 2 minutes.  The north track (the older of the two) is getting a fresh coat of paving so you can better believe that it will make for some exciting races this year.  Schenley Park is the highlight of this ten-day event we all call the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix but the racing starts here at the Pittsburgh International Race Complex with the Historics.

Take a tour through the grounds to enjoy imports and kit cars from at least seven different countries\, representing thirty-seven unique manufacturers. Don’t miss the unbeatable parts shopping experience and a vending opportunity without comparison. Bring the family for a weekend full of fun with everything from prizes via the Passport Program to onsite autocross racing\, club gatherings\, cruises to historic scenic locations and even an activities area devoted to kids – the future of the hobby. \nTo attend this event and get lunch\, you must register for both.  You can attend the festival without getting lunch\, but you cannot get lunch without registering for the festival. \nThe lunch on Saturday is provided at the BMW CCA tent between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM. You must present your ticket (paper or digital) to receive lunch. \nTo attend please register using the Eventbrite website. Lunch is also available at the Nittany Bimmers tent located on the fair grounds. Lunch will be catered by Horner’s Corner BBQ and the online registration price per person is $16.50\, children under 10 will be free.
