2020 Chapter Updates & Reminders

Happy New Year to All!

It’s hard to believe we’re almost halfway through January!  It’s a bit cold, but the weather hasn’t been too terrible, thankfully!  I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for your club membership and participation and to notify each of you as valued Allegheny Chapter members of a few updates and reminders listed below: —- BMW CCA National has removed the local chapter’s requirement to produce a quarterly newsletter in lieu of a new bi-annual Regional Newsletter entitled BimmerLife.  Watch for the first issue due for release later this month!  Chapter members will have issues mailed to them just like the Roundel.  If you’d like to access any of our chapter’s prior newsletters, look under the Menu tab, then select Newsletter on the Allegheny Chapter website: https://alleghenybmwcca.org/

—- Please note that Membership dues are increasing as of February 1, 2020 (1st time in 10 years!) and right now BMW CCA is giving you the opportunity to extend your membership terms at the current prices.  For all the specifics, and to extend your membership go to https://www.bmwcca.org/ and select Manage Account or call 1-800-878-9292.

—- If you haven’t registered for the Post-Holiday party being held on Saturday, January 25th @ Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery there’s still time and we’ve extended the deadline to register to January 18th.  Go to the chapter Home page or Calendar to register!

—- The “Winter Beater” drive is Saturday, February 8th.  Steve Forest did a great job putting this new type of nontraditional drive together for us to enjoy.  Take this opportunity to get out of the house, drive your winter vehicle and socialize with your fellow chapter BMW enthusiasts (save your prized Bimmer for this Spring!).  There’s still time to register.  Just go to the Allegheny Chapter website and select:  Menu > Calendar > Upcoming events > Winter Beater Drive and register today!

—- NEW High-Performance Drivers Education (HPDE) experience at the Pittsburgh International Race Complex to be held September 14- 16th.  The Allegheny Chapter is partnering with the Trillium Chapter of BMW CCA to sponsor this event.  If you ever wanted to experience track driving (non-competitive), this is a great opportunity to receive one-on-one expert instruction in the classroom and on the track!  For more information and to register and make your $100 deposit, go to the Home page of our website or email: [email protected]

—- Do you enjoy taking photos? We’re looking for one or more amateur photographer(s) to capture our fun social and driving events.  What a great way to get involved just by taking a few photos while you’re enjoying a club event.  No experience required. Please email me if you’re interested!

Let me take this opportunity to say that the 2020 Allegheny Chapter Board along with myself are super-excited about our calendar of events for the upcoming year (available on the website soon).  We look forward to your continued support, enthusiasm and participation.  Let’s make 2020 a year to remember!!

Best Regards,
Maxine Weir I President
